The Thalys PBKA is a high-speed train derived from the French TGV. It operates the Thalys service between Paris, Brussels, Köln and Amsterdam, this forms the PBKA identification.
Unlike the earlier Thalys PBA sets, the PBKA sets were built exclusively for the Thalys service. Their motor cars at each end are technologically similar to those of TGV Duplex (double deck) sets, but the trains do not feature double deck carriages. Each train unit consists of eight carriages and are 200 m long, weighing a total of 385 tonnes and can seat 377. All of thePBKA trains are quadri-current, capable of operating under French, Belgium, Dutch and German wires.
