Can anyone tell me about peace corps experiences in Eastern Europe and Central Asia?

Question by Hazel T: Can any person tell me about peace corps experiences in Eastern Europe and Central Asia?
Hi, I am applying to the peace corps and thinking about preferencing Eastern Europe and Central Asia. I’m quite interested in Central Asia, but not so much Eastern Europe, simply because it appears genuinely simple to travel to currently (I’m confident this sounds bad). Can anyone enlighten me on their experiences in Eastern Europe and Central Asia so I can have some idea? Thanks!

Check out peacecorpsjournals.com. It is an substantial index of blogs, arranged by nation.

Actually straightforward to travel? Do you mean in-nation, or on getaway elsewhere? I suppose some have access to trains, but I’d be prepared to guess that most men and women travel by bus or taxi, like I did in Morocco. I have friends serving in Macedonia, Albania, Romania and the Ukraine and that is how they travel. It’ll nevertheless vary by person site, although.
